Voxelizer Experimental release notes 2019-02-01

We’re continuing the (roughly) weekly schedule of Voxelizer Experimental updates.

Windows: The updates should automatically show up when starting Voxelizer - if they don’t, you can click on Help -> Check for updates or download the Windows installer directly from here.

Linux: install with snap install voxelizer --beta, update automatically or with snap refresh voxelizer

MacOS: Download latest version here. The macOS version may lag behind Windows/Linux ones as it doesn’t have a fully automated build pipeline yet.

Voxelizer Experimental release notes 2019-02-01

  • skirt and none have been added as choosable bottom layer structures (issues #272, #304)
  • improvements to handling of multiple brims (issue #293)
  • an additional purge extruder option is available on bottom layer structure right-click (extrudes a 100mm line from the <0,0> point before the bottom layer structure)
  • it’s now possible to specify that simple support should only be generated from the buildplate, not from the model (Only from buildplate option in support settings/quick settings) (issue #220)
  • it’s now possible to choose whether image mapping should only be applied to the outside faces of the printed model, or also to the inside ones, such as an interior/exterior of a cup (only outside switch in image mapping view)
  • further robustification of image mapping algorithms
  • automatic update on Windows will now be invoked in non-interactive mode, without having to go through the installer wizard
  • solid PVA support has been renamed to solid soluble (issue #169)
  • additional action retraction parameter has been renamed to escape inside to better describe what it’s doing (issue #245)

Bug fixes

  • fix for Voxelizer not starting correctly on some system configuration scenarios, such as when certain network or remote drives are used as the location for configuration storage
  • fix for some parameters causing backwards incompatibility of project files (issue #298) - some parameters may still be missing and will be reviewed soon
  • some bug fixes related to texturing
  • fixes and speedups for gcode loading
